Dr. Vedder’s Special Needs Summer Camp Program
Our special needs summer camp is a non-sectarian residential summer camp program for boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 15 who require a highly structured and emotionally supportive environment.
Our special needs campers exhibit mild to moderate behavior problems, typically stemming from Attention Deficit Disorder with or without hyperactivity. Campers may also present other related behavior disorders.
With average to above-average intelligence, our campers share to some degree one or more of the following characteristics:
- Low self-esteem and lack of self-confidence
- Fear of new situations
- Difficulty accepting adult direction
- Difficulty accepting responsibility for their behavior
- Difficulty establishing peer relationships
- Difficulty in groups
A special program at Wooden Acres Camp, Dr. Vedder’s Program is located in Lexington, Michigan, east of port Huron and on Lake Huron.
Our special needs summer camp offers a complete range of boating activities, fine arts programs, sports, horseback riding, golf, go carting, a petting zoo, travel trips, and many more fun activities to meet the interests of every child.
For our 2012 special needs programs, will offer 1 and 2 week sessions: July 29-August 5, August 5-August 12 or July 29-August 12. The programs are for ages 7-15 year olds.
Our 1 week session fee is $599. Our 2 week session fee is $998.
